Achievements were many for Pound Ridge Swim & Dive in 2011. Thanks to the combined efforts of the swimmers and divers, we were dual-meet division champions in 2011. The divers separately won the divisional diving championships.
Those successes boosted us back up to Division II of the Northern Westchester Swim Conference, where we will compete in the 2012 summer season against Briarcliff, Cortlandt, Katonah, Lakeside, and Lewisboro.
These are all very good teams, so it is likely to be a tough but fun season. We need all sorts of volunteers to help us get through the season, so please contact the parent committee as soon as possible if you are interested in becoming involved.
There are many jobs to fill every year, but most importantly this year, we need a
'Meet Rep' to be the 'face' of the team, the right-hand person for the coaches during meets, and the point of contact for officials, other teams, and the Swim Conference as necessary. This is a high-visibility spot, and should be someone who can regularly attend meets, but this is not a time-intensive position, so could be managed easily by someone working a regular day (remembering that at least some meets are on week nights.) This person will work closely with the parent rep, other committee members, and the Town Recreation Department. For planning purposes, please note regular season practice will begin on or around June 25th (with pre-season practice a week or two beforehand). Regular-season meets will take place from Jly 5th to Jly 28th (and possibly Jly 31st if the weather requires make-ups). Post-season championship meets will take place the first week of August. We will provide more details of our team's specific meet schedule as that information become available.
