The 2012 swim/dive season is nearly upon us, and it's time to start showing that team spirit. So mark those calendars:
NOW: Register for swim & dive team via the Recreation Department at the Town Hall (requires a Town Pool Permit - this is a requirement of the Northern Westchester Swim Conference and you cannot practice with or swim/dive for the team unless you are properly registered; see website for complete details).
NOW: Order a team suit and/or cap ONLINE. Yep, online ordering is available if you already know your size. Go to the team website, and click on ORDER SUIT/CAP for instructions. If you don't know your size, come to meet the suit vendor on 6/4 (see below). Suits/caps are only available for order through 6/5 so DON'T DELAY.
5/28: March in the Memorial Day Parade. The team will be there, so come and join us as we march with other town organizations from PRES to Burial Hill Cemetery. This is a fun amble, and the first chance of the year to hook up with your old swim team buddies. More details to come but mark your calendars for the AM....
6/4: Coach/parent/swimmer meeting at Conant Hall, 6pm-8pm. Meet the coaches, figure out how to volunteer, or meet with the Metro Swim Shop vendor to try on a team suit to gauge your size. More details to come
6/5: LAST DAY TO ORDER A TEAM SUIT/CAP. Order online now or see the vendor on 6/4 but just do it!
SOON AFTER: CAR WASH: The team is trying to arrange a fund-raising team car wash at the Fire House. This is not a drop-off for kids; parents must be involved but it's a great morning of fun and laughter so Go Dolphins. Details TBA.
6/16: Tryouts for new swimmers at the Town pool. More details to come. Returning swimmers can just sign up; others must come for a tryout. See website for details under registration.
6/18: Pre-season practice begins after school. Times TBD.
6/25: Regular-season practice begins. Times TBD.
7/7: First meet: Away to Lewisboro. See the website for "2012 Meets;" the calendar's all there
7/10, 4 pm: TEAM PHOTOS: Get an individual and team photo; tentatively scheduled for 4pm 7/10 before that day's home meet.
8/5: END-OF-SEASON PARTY: Awards, fun, games, and an all-around fun time: Mark your calendars for Sunday, August 5th
